I’ve spent my entire 20+ year career in the parking office at the University of Kansas, where I have done just about everything. “Everything” includes basic tasks like cashiering, phone customer service, administrative support of director-level staff and higher, event management, toll collection for a game shuttle, website management, map updates; up to extensive research on numerous topics, developing new policies, creating complicated spreadsheets and analyzing data, and data collection for various studies.
I also participate in planning and operations meetings, Interact with upper-level university and city administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the general public on a daily basis, write/design publications, edit/proofread departmental information in reports and publications, and schedule meetings with 10-20 attendees on a regular basis,
Basically, if it is a function that happens in a parking office, there is a 95% chance that I have done it at some point in my career.
